Ms. Yvonne Okai-Ababio is a dedicated nurse at University Health Services, Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST). She has been practicing since 2021, following her national service (rotation). From May 2021 to November 2022, she served as a casual staff member in the Emergency Unit and Outpatient Department before transitioning to a permanent role in December 2022. She is currently stationed at the Female Medical-Surgical ward .

Yvonne is a certified Palliative Care Practitioner, a credential earned through the African Health Network in collaboration with the University of Toronto, the Public Health Department at KNUST, and the MasterCard Foundation. Additionally, she holds a Basic Emergency Care certification from the World Health Organization.

Beyond her clinical responsibilities, Yvonne is actively involved in several professional committees and initiatives, including:

The Palliative Care , Generic and Home Visit Committee at University Health Services.
The Palliative Care Team member at the hospital.
The Patient-Centered Sickle Cell Disease Management in Sub-Saharan Africa (PACTS) Team at KNUST Hospital, where she serves as Secretary.

With a strong passion for healthcare advancement, Yvonne aspires to pursue an MPhil and PhD in Public Health or Emergency Nursing, further strengthening her expertise and contributions to the field.
