Yaw Agyei Gyasi is a Senior Technician at the Food Microbiology and Fermentation Laboratory of the Department of Food Science and Technology, KNUST. His work sits at the intersection of food microbiology, laboratory quality management, and practical science education.
Professional Practice
He supports microbiological testing of food products for SMEs seeking regulatory approval and for food industries conducting internal quality control and process monitoring. He is also involved in the implementation and continual improvement of laboratory quality systems and serves as an internal auditor for the ISO/IEC 17025 standard.
Teaching & Practical Science Education
Alongside his technical role, Yaw facilitates undergraduate and postgraduate practical classes in food microbiology, supporting students in microbial analysis, interpretation of results and good laboratory practices. Yaw holds an MSc in Food Quality Management from KNUST and a BSc (Hons) in Laboratory Technology from the University of Cape Coast.
