2016

Principal Investigator, Building Strong Universities II (BSU ll) Project, CANR, KNUST. To conduct a pilot study titled - improving locally fabricated stoves and ovens for efficient energy use and clean environment: A case study of Suame-Magazine, Kumasi" under the Entrepreneurship and Job Creation (WP 2) theme of the BSU II Project.

2012-2017

Principal Investigator, USAID Global Development Lab/MIT/KNUST International Development Innovation Network (IDIN) Project. IDIN program is a five year USAID funded cooperative agreement with the following goal, “To create and build a global network of changemakers that enables the design, development and dissemination of innovations that address key development challenges associated with poverty, while building capacity in communities for local innovation and creative problem-solving.” 

2013-2014

Research Project on Repetitive Use of Vegetable Cooking Oil and Effects on Physico-chemical Properties. Sponsored by the Energy Commission, Ghana.

2012- 2013

Team Leader, Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Ghana- Consultancy Service on needs assessment and apportionment of funds for Chirano Goldmine Catchment Communities in Western Region, Ghana.

2010-2014

Team Leader, Ghana Jatropha (GHAJA) Project – Use of Jatropha plant to improve sustainable renewable energy development and create income generation activities: an integrated approach to ensure sustainable livelihood conditions and mitigate land degradation effects in rural Ghana.

2010 - 2011

Team Leader, Consultancy Service for Needs Assessment of Metalwork and Agricultural Mechanization Cluster Enterprises in Kumasi Metropolis. Italian Government and Ghana Private Sector Development Facility (GPSDF), Ministry of Trade and Industry (MOTI), Ghana.

2010

Head of Mission to Liberia, GIS-based Support for Energy Access Policy and Planning. EUEI-PDF Sponsored Mission to Monrovia, Liberia to assess the Energy situation in Monrovia for Energy Planning with a focus on GIS-based Planning Methods. A GIZ sponsored project.

2009 – 2010

Project Coordinator, GIS-based Implementation of Policy and Plans for Increasing Energy Access in Ghana. A project of The Energy Centre, College of Engineering, KNUST, Kumasi funded by the European Union Energy Initiative - Partnership Dialogue Facility (EUEI-PDF), Germany.

2006

Energy Researcher, Survey of Electricity and Kerosene Consumption in Rural Communities, Ghana. A Ghana Energy Development and Access Project (GEDAP), A World Bank funded project. In this project, I carried out cross-sectional surveys of households in grid-electrified, solar-electrified and un-electrified rural areas in Nkoranza district, Brong-Ahafo region, Ghana.

2002 - 2004

Project Coordinator, Development of Environment-friendly Biomass Cookstove and Training Project. Small Grant Project (SGP) of Global  Environmental Fund (GEF)/UNDP. Technology Consultancy Centre, KNUST, Kumasi-Ghana.

2001 - 2002               

Team Leader,  Carried out field research in selected SME clusters of Suame Magazine, Kumasi, Ghana and Kamkunji/Kariobangi, Nairobi, Kenya. Research study on impact and potential of Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) in SMEs in Kenya and Ghana. United Nations University Institute for New Technologies (UNU-INTECH), Maastricht, Netherlands/Kumasi Institute of Tech. Energy & Environment (KITE), Kumasi.

1995 – 2000

Project Coordinator, Technology Transfer Tasked to promote the commercial aspect, monitoring & evaluation of project performance and assessment of techno-economic impacts of Renewable Energy Technologies in Ghana. CIDA-University of  Regina Canada/ University of Science & Technology, Kumasi, Ghana, (CIDA-UR/UST) Renewable Energy Project. This was  an institutional  collaborative project to develop sustainable RETs (Solar PV, water pump, solar crop dryers, solar water distillation etc. ) to increase energy access in three pilot communities of Ashanti, Eastern and Brong-Ahafo regions of Ghana.

1996 - 2003

Project Engineer,  Research and Development of Food Processing Machinery: Expellers for palm oil, Jatropha oil, Honey processing equipment, Soybean processing equipment, Tomato pasteuriser  and Animal Singeing facility etc.
