Achievements

 

  • Secured over $550,000 in competitive research funding, including a $300,000 international laboratory equipment grant and a USDA–NIFA AFRI award.

  • Published peer-reviewed research in high-impact Q1 journals, advancing knowledge in plant protein functionality, cereal chemistry, and indigenous crop valorization.

  • Led modernization and expansion of the Food Science Laboratory at KNUST, strengthening analytical capacity and graduate training.

  • Supervised undergraduate and graduate research projects leading to peer-reviewed publications and international academic progression of mentees.

  • Inaugurated as a Fellow of the Ghana Young Academy (2026) in recognition of scholarly excellence and leadership in research and national development.

  • Served as President of the Convention of Biomedical Research, Ghana (COBREG), contributing to national scientific leadership and coordination.

  • Directed the Ibok Oduro Foundation, promoting STEM education and youth empowerment in Africa.

  • Received prestigious international recognition, including the Borlaug Higher Education Scholarship (USAID) and the Borlaug Summer Institute Fellowship.

  • Taught and mentored students across Ghana and the United States, integrating research, innovation, and real-world problem solving into food science education.
