He holds a PhD in Agricultural Engineering and has more than 30 years professional experience in a number of land and water/agro-environmental engineering projects where irrigation has been one of the key interventions. His expertise and skills cover a very broad spectrum including watershed management studies, design of small irrigation schemes, expert consultation on small-scale pumped irrigation and irrigation extension systems, irrigation water management training, land and water management training, rural infrastructure and research activities in irrigation, soil and water management, agro-hydrology and rural water supply. He has over 30 years of teaching, research, extension and administrative experience in the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Ghana and also in Polytechnic education. This resulted in several scientific publications. A full Professor and Fellow of the Ghana Institution of Engineers (FGhIE), he was a Vice President of the West Africa Regional Association of Irrigation and Drainage (RAID) and also served as the Treasurer and subsequently Secretary of the Ghana Society of Agricultural Engineering (GSAE). He has widely travelled on professional matters, including professional meetings and has consulted on a number of occasions for the FAO, WFP, EPA/World Bank, Ministry of Food and Agriculture, Ghana/DANIDA, UNOPS, NUFFIC/Govt. of Rwanda, IFAD and the Governments of Sierra Leone and Liberia. He headed the Wa Polytechnic, Ghana, as Polytechnic Principal/Rector between 01 July 2005 and 30 September 2009, taking a sabbatical leave and subsequently leave of absence from KNUST.
