Profile

Professor Christian Kofi Gyasi-Sarpong obtained his Fellowship degree from the West Africa College of Surgeons in the year 2006 as a Consultant Urologist. He obtained Bsc Human Biology in 1989 and MBChB degree in 1992 at the School of Medical Sciences, KNUST.

Along the line Professor Gyasi-Sarpong obtained fellowship degrees in surgery from Ghana College of Surgeons in 2013 and International College of Surgeons in 2016.

Professor Gyasi Sarpong was the examinations officer for the Department of Surgery, KNUST from 2013 to 2015. Also from 2016 to 2021 , he has been the Head of Department ofSurgery, School of Medicine and Dentistry - College of Health Sciences, KNUST.

Between 2016 to 2020, Prof Gyasi-Sarpong was also the Head of Directorate of Surgery, Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital, Kumasi.

He has also been an examiner in Surgery and Urology in both West Africa and Ghana Colleges of Surgeons. Professor Gyasi-Sarpong  has been the coordinator for Surgical Skills training in the Ghana College of Surgeons.

He has more than forty peer-reviewed publications to his credit and has put in his application for the position of full professor of surgery which is still pending. He is a member of Society of International Urologists which is based in Montreal, Canada. Also a member of Pan African Urological Surgeons Association(PAUSA) since 2013 and Ghana Association of Urological Surgeons since 2009.

Professor Gyasi-Sarpong has been a visiting scholar to the University of Washington School of Medicine in Seattle and also Children Hospital in Boston, all in the United States of America.
