Grants/Funds Awarded

Pathos AIB Limited Ghana (2019 to date)

Awarded a grant of GHS500,0000 to fund 2 PhD and 1 MPhil students in the Department of Physics.

 

National Environment Research Council, UK (2017 - 2019)

Awarded a consortium grant (collaborators in UK) of £100,000 to undertake a novel computer-aided- laboratory synthesized zeolites for purification of mining wastewater.

 

 

Third World Academy of Science (2016 - 2018)

Awarded a total of USD31,000 for generation of refrigeration from zeolite-containing solar heat for prevention of spoilage of medical drugs.

 

Patel Smart Pot Grand Challenge (2012)

Shortlisting Award Award value of US$8,000.00 (Eight Thousand US Dollars) was awarded by the Patel School of Global Sustainability for being shortlisted for the Patel Smart Pot Grand Challenge (August 2012).

 

Grand Challenges Canada: Rising Stars in Global Health (2012 - 2014)

Award value of CA$113,000.00 (One Hundred and Thirteen Thousand Canadian Dollars) was awarded by Grand Challenges Canada to carry out research aimed at developing a low cost point-of-use zeolite water filter for water treatment (June 2012).

 

Leverhulme Royal Society Africa Award (2012 - 2015)

An award of value £180,000.00 (One Hundred and Eighty Thousand Pound Sterling) for a three year period was awarded by the Leverhulme Trust to carry out research relating to toxic elements removal in mining wastewater using zeolites produced from bauxite and kaolin.
