Professor Samuel Kwofie is a Professor in Materials Engineering at the Department of Materials Engineering of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi, Ghana. He has BSc,(Hons) in Materials Science and Engineering (KNUST) MSc. in Welding and Adhesive Bomding  (Brunel Uni. UK) and PhD in Applied Mechanics (Cyclic Plastic Deformation and fatigue), from University of The Witwatersrand, Johannesburg, South Africa..

Professor Kwofie has 30 years of Teaching Experience in the University and has taught several courses including, Mechanical Behavior of Materials, Principles of Materials Science, Physical Metallurgy of Metals, Materials Joining Processes, Foundry Metallurgy, Introduction to Matlab and Metal Forming Processes.

His Research Interests include

  • Structure-Property Relationship of materials
  • Fatigue and Fracture
  • Cyclic plastic Deformation
  • Modeling and Simulation of Dynamic systems (Using Matlab/Simulink Program)
  • Failure Analysis of Metallic Materials
  • Physical Metallurgy.
