Anthony Andrews is a Professor in the Department of Materials Engineering, in the College of Engineering, Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi – Ghana. He holds an MSc and a PhD in Materials and Metallurgical Engineering from the University of the Witwatersrand (South Africa) and a BSc in Metallurgical Engineering from KNUST. He has several years of teaching, research, and community service experience at the University. He has served as Head of the Department of Materials Engineering, College representative to the Academic Board, and member of College and Faculty Boards. He has also served on various committees at both local (KNUST), national and international levels. He has served as an external examiner for PhD/MPhil theses for several universities in Ghana and abroad. He has also served as an external assessor for the promotion of Academic and Research Staff at several institutions. He has attended several professionally related workshops. His research interests cover aspects of materials synthesis, corrosion, surface modifications, physical metallurgy, waste management, and the development of ceramic-based composites. He has published in several international high-impact journals and has also reviewed manuscripts for many international journals. He is a Guest Editor of the Scientific African Journal (Elsevier) and a member of the Journal of Science and Technology (JUST) editorial board. Until his appointment as Director, he was the Deputy Director of the Institute of Distance Learning, KNUST.
