Godfred Yeboah Annum (PhD) is a Senior Lecturer in Fine Art and New Media Art
Technology
at KNUST. He is an expert in Educational Technology, with speciality in e-Documentation and e-learning material development. He is an experience professional Art Instructor, with dexterity in teaching Art effectively at any level of education. After his basic and secondary education, he trained as a professional Art teacher at the Seventh-Day Adventist Teachers Training College in Koforidua in the Eastern Region of Ghana after which he pursued a diploma programme in Integrated Rural Art and Industry at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science & Technology, Kumasi (KNUST). Having excelled with distinction, he furthered to pursue a Bachelor of Art and a Master of Fine Art degrees in Painting before finalising his academic pursuit with a PhD in Art Education (all at KNUST), where he specialised as an Art Educational Technologist.
He has served his country in various teaching capacities. He has taught at the Basic School, Senior High School, Teacher Training College and currently the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science & Technology, Kumasi where from 2009 - 2011 he was appointed Head of Department to stear the affairs of the Department of Painting & Sculpture at KNUST. He has to his credit as the first lecturer to introduce New-media Art Technology in Painting and Sculpture at the tertiary level in Ghana. This course is providing computer education for art students, preparing them to face challenges of the job market in this new-media age. The course equips students with Digital Art skills for evolving Fine Art works in Painting and Sculpture using virtual art tools in Graphic Application Software like Adobe Photoshop and 3dsMax. They are also groomed in the skills for digital photographic editing.
As a New Media Art Educational Technologist, he has evolved an e-learning material development technology for Electronic Documentation of intellectual materials on studio and laboratory-based courses to facilitate distance education in studio or laboratory-based institutions. This is a ‘MULTIBRID' technology that enables the incorporation of multimedia elements of motion pictures, still pictures, sound, and text documents to develop Interactive Electronic Learning Materials to facilitate e-learning. It's a technology that renders interactive electronic documentation easy to handle. His passion is to foster e-Learning implementation in studio and laboratory–based Tertiary Institutions and offer flexible e-learning experience for all categories of Distance Learning Students to learn at their own pace and convenience.
Dr. Annum is currently an instrumental leading member of KNUST ERASMUS plus Programme of the European Union regarding Enhancing Entrepreneurship, Innovation and Sustainability in Higher Education in Africa (EEISHEA). Based on his speciality in e-learning pedagogy, he has been offering lectures on behalf of KNUST ERASMUS on the importance of e-learning in curriculum development and its impact on Higher Educational Institution Ranking.
