Ing. Dr. Charles Gyamfi is a trained Civil Engineer with specialization in Hydrology and Water Resources Management. In 2017, he earned a PhD in Civil Engineering (Hydrology and Water Resources specialty) from the Tshwane University of Technology, Pretoria, South Africa. He had earlier obtained both his BSc Civil Engineering and MSc Water Resources Engineering and Management qualifications from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) in 2008 and 2012 respectively.
He comes along with over 10 years working experience as a Water Resources Engineer. Dr. Gyamfi has consulted for the Government of Ghana on the provision of Small Towns Water Supply Schemes in parts of the Brong Ahafo Region with project facility from the African Development Bank (AfDB). He has also consulted for MiDA on the Kpong left bank irrigation project where he worked as a Design Engineer with SNC Lavalin.
Currently, he is a faculty member of the Civil Engineering Department where he lectures courses in Elementary Fluid Mechanics and Engineering Hydrology at the undergraduate level. At the Masters level, Dr. Gyamfi is involved in the delivering of courses in Applied Hydrology, Water Resources Planning and Hydropower Development. He co-handles GIS and RS for Environmental Systems, a course audited at the PhD level where his focus is on Geostatistical Applications in Environmental Systems.
