Profile

Mrs. Eunice Owusu-Antwi is an Assistant Lecturer at the College of Art and Built Environment, Department of Industrial art -Textiles and Fashion. She obtained her first degree, B. A. Industrial Art, Textiles in 2008 and further obtained a Master of Technology Education in Textiles and Fashion Technology in 2016. Eunice is currently pursuing her doctorate in Fashion Design Technology at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology and undertaking a research in collaboration with  Bureau of Integrated Rural Development (BIRD), KNUST and affiliate partners such as  United States Agency for International Development (USAID), West Africa Analytical Support Services and Evaluations for Sustainable Systems in Agriculture, Environment and Trade (ASSESS), United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) and The University of Rhode Island (URI)

Before becoming an Assistant lecturer, Eunice Owusu Antwi served her current department in the capacity of a Senior and subsequently Principal Technician for more than nine years. As a Senior/ Principal Technician, she was closely involved with students in the practical fields of fashion and textiles. She was also very instrumental in furbishing the fashion studios of KNUST. Eunice was also indispensable when it came to the production services of the department that were rendered to organizations, the university, the department, and individuals.

Years of service as an Administrative Assistant and subsequently a Demonstrator at the Radford University College (RUC GH) - Fashion Department, preceded her time of service at KNUST. She was one of Radford’s earliest employees working together with seasoned Professors on several initiatives. She, therefore, recognizes good initiatives as well as has good initiative. She designed the “Evolution in Fashion”, a wall plaque for the fashion Department (RUC), for its premier matriculation, as well as led the exploration of raw design capabilities of the freshmen at RUC GH, which was exhibited at the fashion department on the matriculation day. She also responsibly oversaw the activities of the studio during her time at RUC whilst maintaining good working relationships.

Eunice is a good team player, which has afforded her the opportunity of service in various capacities on several exhibition and fashion show committees at KNUST aside from being involved in two other non-academic fashion shows. She is currently serving as a member of the Industrial Art Website Committee.

Eunice Owusu-Antwi’s interest is in Innovative Garment Design and Quality construction. She is also interested in sustainable design and construction. She is accustomed to the relationship between an individual’s personality (Character and figure) and the design of garments, and she doubles as a designer.

Eunice enjoys innovation, creative and skilful craftsmanship, pattern making, and sustainable construction techniques.

She also loves to search, experiment, design, sew, garnish food, craft, and see drama.
