Profile

Mrs. Regina Nuako attended Technology Secondary School, Kumasi and Ghana Secondary School, Koforidua for her secondary education. She holds a BA degree in Publishing Studies from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi and a Master of Business Administration in Marketing from the University of Leicester, UK.

 

Mrs. Nuako joined the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology in August, 2006 as an Assistant Registrar and has fourteen years of working experience in higher education administration and management. She has served the University in several capacities including being the first Assistant Registrar in the newly created Students Financial Services Office from 2006 to 2010. Through her initiative the following international organizations; Educational Pathway International and Tertiary Educational Scholarship Trust signed an MOU with the University to support the cause of needy but brilliant students.   Upon a visit to the University of Ghana Financial Aid Office to understudy it activities, she proposed the introduction of work study programme at KNUST. The work study programme gives opportunity to needy students to work on campus to earn some income to support themselves.

 

In 2010, she was transferred to the Dental School as Foundation Assistant Registrar with oversight responsibility over Faculty of Allied Health Sciences and the School of Veterinary Medicine. Despite her added responsibility at the Faculty of Allied Health Sciences and the School of Veterinary Medicine, her commitment to the development of the Dental School was phenomenal.  Mrs. Nuako supported both the teaching and non-teaching staff of the Dental School and School of Veterinary Medicine in their work and was the focal person in the recruitment of academic staff from Ghana, Nigeria, the UK and USA. She laid down a robust administrative structure for the accelerated growth of the Dental School. Her efforts were acknowledged by the College of Health Sciences which awarded her Best Worker (Senior Member) of the Dental School in 2011.

 

She was promoted to Senior Assistant Registrar in 2012 and in October, 2014, she was transferred to the School of Graduate Studies to assist the School Secretary. In November, 2016, she was transferred to the Examinations Office. The various schedules and offices have given Mrs. Nuako the opportunity to serve as Secretary/Assistant Secretary/Member on several statutory and adhoc committees and boards and she has discharged her duty with zeal, commitment and distinction.

Mrs. Nuako has been a member of the Ghana Association of University Administrators (GAUA) since 2006 and currently the Assistant Secretary for the Local and GAUA National.

She is a practicing Christian and fellowships with the Presbyterian Church of Ghana, Christ Congregation, KNUST. She is a Sunday School teacher for the Junior Youth and a marriage counsellor. She is also a Patron of the University Choir, KNUST. She is married with one child.
