Profile

Marcel Tunkumgnen Bayor was born around the mid of the 1960s as the first of seven children to Mr. Stephen Bayor Tizaalee and Madam Mary Kanvenyelle, in a small but popular village of Bussie, in the Daffiama-Bussie-Issa (DBI) District of the Upper West Region of Ghana. I had my Basic education in the village Local Authority School and High School education (Ordinary and Advanced levels) in Wa Secondary School, Wa, UWR, and Ghana Secondary School, Tamale, NR; respectively. I proceeded to KNUST for a Degree in Pharmacy (BPharm) and became a Pharmacist in 1993. After obtaining my Master’s degree in Kings College, University of London, I took up lectureship in Kumasi Polytechnic in 1996, and later moved to the Faculty of Pharmacy, KNUST in 2002 as a Lecturer. I acquired my PhD in 2007; and by hard work, I rose through the ranks from a Lecturer to a Professor of Pharmaceutics, by August 2022. I am married to Mrs. Theresa Bayor and we have five Children.
