Prof. Mariam El Boakye-Gyasi is a Professor of Pharmaceutics in the Department of Pharmaceutics, Faculty of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Kumasi, Ghana. She holds a BPharm, MPhil, and PhD in Pharmaceutics, all from KNUST. A registered pharmacist, Prof. Boakye-Gyasi actively contributes to professional and academic leadership. She serves as the Chairperson of the Lady Pharmacists Association of Ghana (LAPAG) and is a member of the Pharmaceutical Society of Ghana (PSGH). At KNUST, she serves as the Head of Monitoring and Evaluation at the Quality Assurance and Planning Office (QAPO) and coordinates Postgraduate Seminars and Research for the Department of Pharmaceutics. Internationally, she is the Academic Capacity Lead for the FIP-UNESCO UNITWIN Centre for Excellence in Africa, a member of FIP-WISE, and a Fellow of the University of Michigan African Presidential Scholars (UMAPS) Program. Her research focus spans Pharmaceutics and Pharmaceutical Technology, with specialized emphasis on drug formulation, quality control, nano-delivery systems, natural polymers, and the development of local pharmaceutical excipients.
