Dr Dr. Seth Christopher Yaw Appiah is  a Senior Lecturer at the Department  of Sociology and Social Work , Kwame Nkrumah University  of Science and Technology. Dr Dr Seth Christopher Yaw Appiah is Global and population health scientist, medical sociologist and Infectious disease public health scientist with research interest spanning the areas of health and gender intersectionality  , sexuality and human right, travel medicine and migration health. He is African Union Research Fellow. He holds a PhD Reproductive Health Sciences from the Pan African University Life and Earth Sciences Institute University of Ibadan (PAULESI) . He additionally holds a PhD Medical Research International Health from the Ludwig-Maximillian University of Munich(LMU) and an MPhil Sociology (Health) from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi.  Dr Dr Appiah further holds an MPhil/LLM   in Sexual Reproductive Right in Africa (SRRA) from the Centre for Human Right University of Pretoria and training Certificate in Gender-Based Analysis of Vector-borne Diseases and Climate Change from School of Public Health University of the Witwatersrand. He is a Visiting Lecturer at the Pan African University Life and Earth Sciences University of Ibadan and a Visiting Research Scientist at the Centre for Human Right ,Institut für Politische Wissenschaft Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg. Dr Dr Appiah is a member of the International Society of Social Paeditricians and Child Health.He is a celebrated social epidemiologist and behavioural change agent applying theories to practice in the design of health behavioural change innovations and solutions across diverse population context . He cherishes the application of mixed methods paradigm in his work and loves teaching it.

Dr. Dr. Seth Christopher Yaw Appiah is an exceptional academic with over 80 peer reviewed research publications with over 32 ,00 citations on google scholar with an h-index of 29 and i-10-index of 46 according to google scholar with a further 30,356 citations on Scopus and an h-index of 22. He has over the past 17 years led community health outreaches, to improve health outcomes towards avoiding preventable deaths. He has taught courses at the undergraduate and postgraduate level including Advanced Quantitative Research Methods, Population and Reproductive Health, Demographic Analysis, Ethics and Reproductive Health law and Health Services Management and Epidemiology. He supervises both masters and PhD students research and is an external examiner for several universities in Ghana and Africa  and Europe. Dr Dr Appiah has won several grant portfolio with diverse either a PI or co-PI with a grant portfolio of 2.6 million United States Dollars.

He is an excellent practitioner, bringing innovative ideas to his work. He has consulted for GIZ, Save the Children, IOM, UNICEF,the WHO and IDOS. Dr. Dr. Appiah holds a visiting lecturer position at the Obstetrics and Gynecology department of the Pan African University Life and Earth Science Institute University of Ibadan, Nigeria. Dr. Appiah has been a visiting scientist at Centre for Human Rights Erlangen-Nürnberg (CHREN) of the Forschungsbereich Migration, Flucht und Integration Institut für Politische Wissenschaft Friedrich-Alexander Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg under the refugee health and camps research theme and is an FFVT fellow. Dr.  Dr. Appiah is an Excellent African Scientist Fellow of the Baden Wurttemberg State of Germany and hosted at the University of Konstanz, a Visiting Professor at the Palash University in Somalia and has been a Senior Guest Researcher at German Institute of Development and Sustainability (IDOS) and a Senior Fellow of the  AFRIQUE One REACH One Health Consortuim.
