Dr. Daniel Kwegyir is a Lecturer in the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Kumasi, Ghana. He holds a PhD in Electrical Engineering from KNUST, with a research stay at the Technical University of Munich, Germany. He also earned an MPhil in Power Systems Engineering and a BSc in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from KNUST.
As the Industrial Training Coordinator and Engineering in Society Coordinator, Dr. Kwegyir bridges academic theory with industry practice, fostering student preparedness for real-world challenges. He is also a member of the Coordinating Committee on Stakeholder Engagement and the Industrial Liaison Committee, highlighting his focus on academia-industry collaboration.
His research focuses on AI-driven optimization, smart energy management, and renewable-energy-integrated power systems, with emphasis on developing practical decision-support tools for reliable, efficient, and sustainable electricity networks in Ghana and Africa.
With expertise in MATLAB, OriginPro, and machine learning tools, Dr. Kwegyir is dedicated to advancing sustainable energy solutions and nurturing the next generation of engineers through impactful teaching and mentorship.
