Research Projects (Current and Past)

Current projects

  • Developement of novel multiphase flow metering for gas liquid flows in pipes
  • Design and development of acoustic and optical based gas  leakage detection

PAST PROJECTS

Intelligent well technology applications

As an emerging technology, intelligent well Technology (IWT) has come to stay following their various advantages in optimization of hydrocarbon production, as of today in the oil and gas industry, the application of downhole control valves, sensors and zonal isolation devices in slim reservoirs has been the order but well complicated to employ; thus my research on uncertainty quantification to rate the success of robustness of an IWT was done.

Expansion of natual gas pipelines

The power crisis in Ghana, brought about the facilitation of the gas pipeline running from the jubilee oilfield through to the Aboaze thermal plant to supplement the power shortage. The question asked here was, can the facility setup meet Ghana’s forecast trends?, knowing that increase in population, technology and activities would require more power than the present; thus a research on an expansion model to meet forecast trends was worked on. This was done in collaboration with the Ghana National Gas company. The outcome was to justify the choice of an optimized and economically viable alternative to meet forecast trends
