Dr. Stephen Adjei has been a dedicated faculty member in the Department of Petroleum Engineering at KNUST, contributing to academia and research. With a strong academic foundation, he earned his undergraduate degree in Petroleum Engineering from KNUST, a Master of Technology degree from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Dhanbad, India, and a PhD from King Fahd University of Petroleum & Minerals, Saudi Arabia.
Dr. Adjei specializes in wellbore drilling and cementing for oil and gas, geothermal, and CO? sequestration wells. His expertise spans subsurface engineering and characterization, with a strong focus on well integrity, cement performance, and subsurface modeling. He leverages advanced analytics and machine learning to optimize drilling and cementing operations, enhance subsurface understanding, and support decision-making in complex energy environments.
He is a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) and an active member of The Brew-Hammond Energy Center (TEC-KNUST), collaborating on initiatives that enhance sustainable energy solutions and promote capacity-building within Ghana's energy industry.
Dr. Adjei is deeply committed to knowledge transfer and industry collaboration. He has participated in multiple consultancy projects and applied research endeavors that bridge academic findings with real-world applications in petroleum and energy engineering.
