Mr Timothy Pritchard Debrah is an assistant lecturer at the Department of Nursing (KNUST). His undergraduate training in community mental health nursing took place at the University of Cape Coast, Cape Coast. His graduate education was in advanced nursing at the same university in Cape Coast. He is currently undertaking his postgraduate studies in psycho-educational support strategies at the University of South Africa.
He is a registered mental nurse with experience in adult and community mental health nursing. He has experience both in psychiatric custodial care settings and teaching and research supervision at higher educational institutions.
Mr Debrah has taught at the Department of Mental Health, School of Nursing (UCC) and also served on the curriculum review and international exchange programme committees. Courses taught include Family Health and Care Interventions, Adherence and Non-adherence Management, Psychology, and the Process of Community Mental Health Nursing.
Mr Debrah supervised the research projects of over 20 students at the BSc level. His research areas are in perinatal mental health, psycho-educational support programmes for students, self-injury behaviours and illicit drug abuse and policy issues and he has published some articles.
Mr Debrah is highly dedicated to duties with good interpersonal skills, very respectful and God-fearing, and is looking forward to many collaborations and mentoring in the academic space for growth in order to make the requisite impact in both academia and society as expected of all KNUST staff
