Profile

Edward Mensah Borteye is a Deputy Librarian and the College Librarian at the College of Engineering, KNUST, with extensive experience in academic librarianship, archival science, and research support. He holds a PhD in Information Science from the University of South Africa (UNISA), a Master of Arts in Information Studies (Archival Studies), and a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in History and Religions from the University of Ghana, Legon.

Dr. Borteye has held several leadership roles within KNUST, including Acting College Librarian for the College of Humanities and Social Sciences and Head of Academic Engagement and Support. His teaching experience includes part-time lecturing in Information Literacy and Library Studies in some departments at the university.

His research interests span digital librarianship, information access, scholarly publishing practices, and user education. He has published extensively in peer-reviewed journals such as The Journal of Academic Librarianship, portal: Libraries and the Academy, Journal of Library & Information Services in Distance Learning, International Journal of Information Science and Management, Journal of Scholarly Publishing, The Serials Librarian and Libri, etc.

Dr. Borteye actively contributes to professional development through workshops and training and serves on several university committees. He is also a peer reviewer for multiple international library and information science journals.

He is a Fellow of the Ghana Library Association and a member of the University Teachers Association of Ghana (UTAG).
