Biography

Mrs. Victoria De-Graft Adjei is a Counselling Psychologist with varied experience in career guidance/development, educational/academic counselling, job placement and vocational counselling. She is a Senior Assistant Registrar/Senior Counsellor in the KNUST Counselling Center (KCC). She holds a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Cape Coast and master’s degrees in Health Education & Promotion and Guidance & Counselling from KNUST and University of Cape Coast respectively, all in Ghana.

Mrs. Victoria De-Graft Adjei started her career in the year 2000 as a Senior Administrative Assistant in the then counselling unit at KNUST after her National Service in the same office. By dint of hard work, she was promoted to Principal Administrative Assistant in 2007 and in 2009, she was appointed as Assistant Registrar/Counsellor in the Registrars Offices. She worked in the Counselling Center where provided general and specialized counselling services to staff and students of KNUST. In August 2016, she was promoted to Senior Assistant Registrar/Senior Counsellor in the KCC.  Mrs. De-Graft Adjei is a seasoned Counselling Psychologist with rich experience in psychological/emotional counselling, psychosocial counselling and dynamics of Communication, Individual & Group Counselling as well as Health Promotion/Education. She has competencies in Crisis intervention/Management, Grief Counselling and Psychological assessment (psychometric measures). She is a member in good standing with the following International and national professional bodies; American Psychological Association (APA); Ghana Psychology Council (GPC); Ghana Psychological Association (GPA); Ghana National Association of Certified Counsellors (GNACC); and Ghana Association of University Administrators (GAUA). She has participated in various conferences in Ghana and international and has presented papers on counselling and mental health issues based on research.

Mrs. De-Graft Adjei is passionate about the psychosocial development of the youth and has also been involved in the training of some members of the university community (staff and students) and staff of other institutions as para counselling professionals.  Above all, she is God fearing Christian and love to work in the house of God through the propagation of the gospel of Christ.
