Profile
Born in Tamale into the Catholic Church, I did my secondary education at the St. Hubert Minor Seminary, Kumasi, having schooled in Kumasi and Tema at various times for my primary education. I then continued to the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi to pursue my undergraduate studies, completing in 1992. Subsequently, I obtained my MA at the Aalborg University, Aalborg, Denmark in 2004.
I did my first National Service at the Old Tafo Clinic (now the Old Tafo Polyclinic), Kumasi, where I worked with the Records unit. From there, I did a teaching stint at the All Saints Preparatory School, Adiemra, Kumasi, while awaiting admission to the university. After university, I worked with the International Movement of Catholics Students, IMCS-Pax Romana, a Catholic intellectual student group in tertiary institutions as the National Coordinator from 1992 to 1994. From 1993 to 2001, I was employed a full time teacher by the Ghana Education Service at the Adanwomase Senior High School, teaching English Literature (last batch of O’Level students), English Language and History.
In 2007, when I returned from further studies, I secured a job with the SIC Insurance Company and worked for barely one year before joining the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi in May, 2008 as an Assistant Registrar.
At the KNUST, I was first posted to the Faculty of Forest Resources Technology in Sunyani under the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources as the pioneer Assistant Registrar from August, 2008 to April, 2011. When I returned to Kumasi, I was put on the Affiliations Schedule under the Academic Affairs Division with responsibility for the coordination of all private universities affiliated to the KNUST. Eventually, all the Health Training Institutions of the Ministry of Health in Ghana came into a mentorship relationship with the KNUST when they were upgraded to tertiary status under my coordination.
Between January and November, 2016, I worked at the Institute of Distance Learning, IDL, where I was deeply involved in the coordination work there. From the IDL, I was reshuffled back to the Main Administration to support the Academic and Student Affairs Division. Here, I was put in charge of University ceremonies where I conducted rehearsals for matriculation and graduation ceremonies. Currently, as Senior Assistant Registrar, I am the School Secretary of the School of Business.
Over the years, I have served on several statutory and ad-hoc committees in the University, notable among which was Clerk of Convocation.
Professionally, I belong to the Institute of Public Relations (IPR), Ghana, and the Ghana Association of University Administrators, GAUA.
I like travelling, listening to music and, myself a sportsman, I enjoy soccer, athletics, volleyball and tennis. Above all, I work well in teams with a critical independent mind and strong leadership skills.
