Dr Afia Marfo is a senior lecturer in the Department of Pharmacy Practice, Faculty of Pharmacy at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST). She has over 11 years of working as a lecturer. Her research focuses on medication utilization studies on communicable and noncommunicable diseases, rational medication use and medication therapy management with reference to chronic diseases. She has publications, attended, and participated in academic conferences globally in these areas. Dr Afia Marfo has a PhD in Clinical pharmacy. Her PhD work focused on the role of the community pharmacists in the prevention and management of non-communicable diseases.
Dr Afia Marfo is the examination officer and coordinator of the undergraduate and postgraduate programs in her department. She lectures both at the undergraduate and post graduate levels, in pathophysiology and therapeutics of diseases, community and hospital pharmacy practice. Afia is a member of the Pharmaceutical Society of Ghana,(PSG) Lady Pharmacist Association (LAPAG) and Medicines Utilization Research in Africa (MURIA)
