Prof (Mrs.) Mercy Naa Aduele Opare-Addo is an Associate Professor in the Department of Pharmacy Practice, Faculty of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences. She graduated with a BPharm (Hons) in 1991 from KNUST.  She then worked at Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) for 20years and rose through the ranks to become Deputy Director of Pharmaceutical Services. Whilst at KATH, Mercy worked as the Quality Assurance Coordinator for 10 years having obtained a Master of Health Services Planning and Management degree in 2001.  She joined the University in August 2013 as a lecturer in the department of Pharmacy Practice, and undertook her PhD in Social Pharmacy completing in 2017.  Her research interests are Health Seeking Behaviour, Medication Safety and Patient Safety, in persons with chronic and non-communicable diseases. She is very much interested in advocating and training on Quality improvement in Healthcare initiatives. Mercy lectures undergraduate Pharm D  studentson concepts of  Public Health, Ethics in Healthcare, Effective Communication in Healthcare,  Teamwork and Collaboration in Healthcare, and Research Ethics. She also lectures postgraduate students in the School of Public Health in Quality Assurance in Health care. Mercy serves as a mentor to several young and upcoming Pharmacist. Currently, she is the Experiential Training Coordinator for the Doctor of Pharmacy Programme. She has a number of publications in peer review Journals to her credit.

Prof (Mrs) Opare-Addo is a member of the Pharmaceutical Society of Ghana (PSGH), International Society of Pharmacovigilance (ISoP), Lady Pharmacist Association (LAPAG), the Commonwealth Pharmacy Association (CPA),  International Federation of Pharmacist (FIP). and  the institute of Global ethics
