Professional/Teaching Experience
Mr. Festus Nyame has served in various sections and capacities in the University including the Academic Division where he served as Senior Administrative Assistant, the Institute of Distance Learning (IDL) as Principal Administrative Assistant, the Alumni Office as Assistant Registrar for Alumni Affairs, the Vice-Chancellor’s Office as the Assistant Registrar of the Vice-Chancellor’s Office and, as Faculty Registrar of the College of Science where he has oversight over Faculty of Physical and Computational Sciences and, the Faculty of Biosciences and has acted as College Registrar in the absence of the substantive Registrar for the College. He has also served on various committees and boards in the university.
Over the past ten (10) years, Mr. Festus Nyame has embarked on an outreach programme across the regions of Ghana where he has committed himself to educating Senior High Schools and Basic Schools on critical issues including Career Development and how to make effective career decisions; Choosing the right profession; Admission into Tertiary institutions in Ghana (programme selection, subject combination and cut-off points); Learning Techniques; Examination Techniques; Developing Good Manners and Courtesy, among others.
As a result of these years of outreaches and presentations, he has become a sought-after Career Counselor and a consultant in these areas for not only Basic and Senior High schools but also for some tertiary institutions in the country. He is a good presenter, a motivational speaker and often at speaks to large audiences. His passion is making education relevant to society and helping young people make good decisions for their future.
