Richard has served the University in capacities as Hall Master of Queen Elizabeth II Hall for two years, Chairman of the (Council of Convocation for eight years, Head of the Department of Crop and Soil Sciences for two years, Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture for three years and the current Professorial member of the University Council. 

He is the Chairman of the Advisory Committee of the Kokofu Government Hospital and a member of the Management Committee of the Cocoa Research Institute of Ghana, representing Public Universities. 

He is External Examiner and Moderator for. the Departments of Crop Science at University of Ghana, Legon and University of Cape Coast. He is a former Provost of the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources, KNUST.
