Research Areas/Interests
My research interests lie within the broad field of Counselling Psychology, with a particular focus on mental health promotion, psychological well-being, guidance and counselling, educational psychology, and family psychology. I am interested in investigating the psychological, social, and environmental factors that influence the mental health, academic achievement, career development, and overall well-being of children, adolescents, university students, and working adults.
I am particularly interested in evidence-based counselling interventions for anxiety, depression, stress, trauma, substance use disorders, and behavioural problems. My research also explores parenting practices, resilience, school counselling programmes, workplace wellness, and psychological interventions that improve educational and health outcomes.
More recently, my work has expanded into university mental health, psychosocial support systems, digital and hybrid mental health interventions, sexual harassment prevention, public mental health, and multidisciplinary approaches to improving psychological well-being. I am committed to producing research that informs policy, strengthens counselling practice, and contributes to sustainable mental health services in Ghana and other low- and middle-income countries.
