Profile

Mr. Rabbi Darko is a Licensed Counselling Psychologist and registered with the following international professional bodies: Ghana Psychological Council (GPC), America Psychological Association (International Affiliate), Ghana Psychological Association and Ghana National Association of Certified Counsellors (GNACC). He has varied experiences in Career Counselling, Behavioural Modification, Child Counselling, Development Counselling, Educational Counselling and Marriage Counselling. Currently, he is the college counsellor for the College of Humanities and Social Sciences, KNUST. He holds a Master of Philosophy degree in Guidance & Counselling from University of Education Winneba, a bachelor’s degree in Psychology with Linguistics from the University of Ghana, Legon and Diploma in Education from the Akenten Appiah-Menka University of Skills Training Entrepreneurial Development (AAM-USTED) formerly COLTEK, University of Education, (UEW-K) all in Ghana. 

 

Mr. Rabbi Darko began his career as an English teacher at Obuasi Presby Junior High School for his national service and later became the English Language teacher in Uncle Rich Senior High School in Winneba. In Uncle Rich SHS, Rabbi initiated the Guidance and Counselling Unit where he was made the first Counsellor of the Counseling Unit. Rabbi also doubled as an English teacher and Deputy Counsellor at Otumfuo Osei Tutu II College in the Ashanti Region. Rabbi Darko lectured at AAM-USTED formerly UEW-K as a part-lecturer where he taught Educational Psychology and Guidance and Counseling.

  • Consulting Psychologist: Trial International, Geneva-Switzerland- Provision of Psychological counselling to their Ghanaian client involved in the unlawful killings of about 44 Ghanaians in Gambia in 2005.

During the COVID-19 period, Rabbi wrote an article on COVID-19 impact on Ghanaian School Children which was published on the websites of Ghana Psychological Council, Ghanaweb, modernghana and peacefmonline. 

 

He coaches and mentors the youth on how to be relevant and impactful in the society and organizes seminars and conferences for the youth on pertinent issues as well as workshops for teachers and care givers in educational institutions.
