Profile
I am a Senior Lecturer at the Department of Silviculture and Forest Management, Faculty of Renewable Natural Resources of Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Kumasi – Ghana. I have a PhD from Wageningen University, based on transdisciplinary research at the interphase of forest policy and education sciences.
I am passionate about promoting responsible forested landscape governance in Ghana and beyond through research in three main focal areas:
- Transformative forestry education
- Participatory forest management
- Forest justice
My strong believe in research for impact drives my action research and engagement with several government agencies, non-governmental organisations and local communities. Through a Deutsche Gesellschaft fur Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) funded assignment, I have created a mechanism for gender-transformative curriculum development for Agricultural Technical and Vocational Training and Education (ATVET). Currently, I am developing and implementing a fire management concept for two landscapes in Ghana with Forestry Research Institute of Ghana in collaboration with AROCHA and Tropenbos Ghana under the GIZ funded Forest landscape restoration through a sustainable wood energy value chain project.
