Winston operates at the intersection of research and development, bridging the gap between climate change, soil ecology, applications of spatial tools, natural resources management, agro-commodity sustainability and community-led action. Over the past twenty years, he has worked with local communities, civil society organizations, private sector actors, state actors and international development partners across West and East Africa – including Ghana, Sierra Leone, Burkina Faso, Ethiopia, Liberia and Nigeria to drive nature and technology-based emission reduction programs, sustainable forest – agricultural landscapes, rural livelihood improvement programs and responsible private sector business norms in cocoa, coffee, oil palm and timber.
Through his extensive research and development, Prof. Asante has driven sustainable and smart landscape transformation in forestry and agricultural sectors.
