Dr Faizal Adams is a lecturer with the Department of Agricultural Economics, Agribusiness and Extension, Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology since 2016. Dr Adams holds PhD in Agricultural Economics after completing BSc in Agriculture Science from same department. Part of Dr Adams PhD training was carried out at Nova Scotia Agriculture College, Truro-Canada. Dr Adams is the current Coordinator and Examination officer for the MSc Agribusiness Management Programme at the Institute of Distance Learning (IDL), KNUST. He is also the vacation training coordinator for the department.
Before joining KNUST, Dr Adams started his career as a Project Coordinator with the Ministry of Food and Agriculture (MoFA). He assisted the Project Coordination Unit (PCU) of the Ministry to formulate and execute all Agricultural donor-funded projects at the national, regional and district levels of Ghana. Due to his unrelenting effort and dedication to service, Dr Adams was appointed as the Deputy Coordinator of the Northern Sector Agriculture Investment Coordination Unit (NSAICU), a USAID sponsored project in collaboration with MoFA and the Savannah Accelerated Development Authority (SADA), Tamale, Ghana. Experiences gain from these institutions and elsewhere provided Dr Adams with the relevant practical knowledge in rural development; agricultural policies; agribusiness management and pro-poor project implementations for impactful teaching and learning at the university.
Dr Adams is very proficient in proposal writing, technical report writing, result-based quantitative and qualitative research work, data collection and analysis, participatory impact monitoring and evaluation as well as evidence-based policy formulation.
