Profile

Felix Asante is a Senior Lecturer at the Department of Geography and rural Development of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Kumasi.  He holds a Master of Philosophy and a Bachelor of Arts in Geography and Resource Development from the University of Ghana, Legon.  He also has an MA. in Development Studies specializing in Agriculture and Rural Development from the International Institute of Social Studies, The Hague, The Netherlands.

His teaching and research interests are in agro-climatology, rural Livelihoods, adaptation to climate variability and change, climate-smart agriculture, Agricultural Geography and Tourism development in Developing Countries.

Felix has published in several high impact journals in these areas of interest and continues to do so.

Prior to his appointment as a Lecturer at KNUST in 2004, Felix was the Research and Administrative Officer of the West African sub-cluster of the United Nations University Project on People, Land Management and Environmental Change (WAPLEC) headquartered at Department of Geography and Resource Development, University of Ghana, Legon now Sustainable Land Management Project (SLaM).

Felix has vast knowledge on issues pertaining to agro-biodiversity especially in the Eastern Region of Ghana where most of his unit’s activities were centred and has worked extensively with people from diverse academic backgrounds.
