My research interest is Religion/culture and Development. The areas of research focus on how religious resources from the intellectual traditions of various religions in Africa can help resolve many of the pressing challenges such as about poverty, ecological systems, environment, conflicts, law, socio-legal systems, human rights, gender, healthcare delivery, cultural tourism, among others, that confront development theory and practice, particularly in Africa. It further highlights how the law can act as legitimating support for negative religious or cultural practices that infringe on human rights of persons, especially girls and women who are considered residual categories in some cultures; thereby proposing practical or intellectual interventions.
