Dr. Francisca Adoma Acheampong is a Certified Professional Engineer and a Lecturer with the Department of Telecommunication Engineering. She has a Doctor of Engineering (DEng) degree in Computer Science and Technology with specialisations in natural language processing from the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China (UESTC). She has a Master of Engineering (MEng) degree from UESTC and a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Engineering from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology. She received several academic excellence awards while pursuing her graduate studies at UESTC. She received the best Female Researcher and most cited publication awards during the 2021 NUGS China Excellence Awards. She also received an award from Engineering Reports, Wiley Journal, for the most downloaded and top-cited publication for 2020-2021.

 

Her current research interest includes natural language processing of underserved languages and machine learning approaches for network optimisation. In addition, she is open to collaborating with multidisciplinary research teams that seek to use Artificial Intelligence to improve society and enhance the inclusion of marginalised groups.
