Dr. Kwabena Ampong is a financial management specialist.
He is a Chartered Accountant with the Institute of Chartered Accountants Ghana, a chartered internal auditor with the Institute of Internal Auditors Ghana, and a Certified Forensic Investigation Professional with the International Institute of Certified Forensic Investigation Professionals Inc. (USA). Additionally, he holds Post-Graduate Certificates in Project Finance and Management and Entrepreneurship University Transformation from the Maastricht School of Management, the Netherlands. He has a Chartered Diploma in Public Financial Management from the Institute of Chartered Accountants Ghana. He also holds a certificate in Advance Finance Management from the Kenya School of Government. Dr. Ampong has a PhD in Business and Management (Finance), a Master of Business Administration (Finance), and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (Accounting) from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi
He currently serves as the School Accountant at the School of Graduate Studies and oversees the Office of Grants and Research. He has been involved (from proposal writing to implementation) in several projects funded by the World Bank, USAID, USDA, NIH, BMBF of Germany, Welcome Trust of the UK, UNESCO, IDRC of Canada, H2 ATLAS, WSUP, and Oliver & Adelaide Tambo Foundation of South Africa.
Dr. Ampong has previously served as the head of finance and administration for M4 Construction and Mining Support Services, the Acting Finance Officer for Jackson College of Education, the Internal Auditor for Jackson College of Education, the Deputy General manager for J. O. Microfinance Limited, and a teaching and research assistant at KNUST School of Business.
