Dr. Sandra Addai-Henne is a Lecturer in the Department of Statistics and Actuarial Science at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Ghana. Her core responsibilities include teaching at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels, supervising student research, conducting academic research, and contributing to departmental and university activities. She holds a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Actuarial Science from KNUST, a Master of Science (MSc) in Actuarial Science from the University of Lausanne, Switzerland, and a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Actuarial Science from KNUST.

Her research interests include annuities and pensions, life and health insurance, stochastic processes, risk and credibility theory, statistical methodology, and the application of machine learning and artificial intelligence in actuarial science. She is particularly interested in how emerging analytical tools can complement traditional actuarial methods in areas such as risk assessment, insurance pricing, claims analysis, mortality modelling, and actuarial decision-making.

Dr. Addai-Henne has a strong interest in strengthening the connection between actuarial theory and professional practice. Her teaching emphasizes practical problem-solving, data analysis, case-based learning, and the application of statistical and actuarial techniques to real-world problems. She is also interested in incorporating data science, machine learning, and emerging AI tools into actuarial education to prepare students for the evolving analytical and technological demands of the profession.

Beyond teaching, Dr. Addai-Henne is actively involved in research and academic service. She supervises undergraduate and postgraduate research and contributes to research and publication activities within the University. Her research reflects an interest in developing quantitative solutions to problems relevant to Ghana and other emerging markets. Her commitment to actuarial education extends beyond the classroom. She is passionate about creating greater awareness of actuarial science, supporting students in their professional development, and encouraging young people to explore careers in actuarial science and statistics.
