Ms. Joana Joseline Hackman, a Junior Assistant Counsellor at the KNUST Counselling Center (KCC), holds a BA Publishing Studies degree from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology in 2004 and obtained an MEd Guidance and Counselling from the University of Cape Coast in 2015.
Joana began her career as a trained teacher at Asesewa Anglican School complex from 1997 to 2000. In September 2000 she gained admission into KNUST to read a 4-year degree programme in Publishing Studies. She later joined the National Health Insurance Scheme in 2005 for her National Service as a Deputy Public Relations Officer. After completing her National service, she went back into the teaching profession and taught in various schools before going back to the University of Cape Coast in 2013 to pursue a postgraduate degree in Guidance and Counselling. In September 2016, she was posted to Afua Kobi Ampem Girls’ Senior High School as the Guidance and Counselling Coordinator, a position she held until joining KNUST.
Ms. Hackman joined KNSUT in January 2018 as a Junior Assistant Counsellor at the Counselling Center (KCC). She was assigned to the College of Arts and Built Environment (CABE) in May 2018 to provide counselling services to staff and their dependents as well as students of the College. In September 2019, she was again assigned to the College of Health Sciences (CoHS) to manage and provide counselling services to the two colleges (CABE & CoHS).
She recently served as a Secretary to the Amoateng Committee in 2019. She has since been with the Counselling Center and is currently the Coordinator for the KNUST Peer Counsellors (KPC) programme.
