Hannah-Vic Adzraku (Mrs.) has been with the Department of Horticulture, KNUST, Kumasi, since 1998 as a lecturer. She is the head of the Ornamental Section of the Department teaching Landscape Design and Construction, Plants, Vegetation and Microclimate and Community Landscaping and Management among others. She holds a Master of Science Degree in Landscape Studies and a Bachelor of Science (Honours) Degree in Agriculture from KNUST. During her MSc studies she researched on the reclamation and planting of spoiled lands which included mined spoils. Presently she is undertaking a PhD programme at KNUST and she is working on the use of biochar for the development of appropriate soils for sports fields in Ghana in the face of climate change.

Her professional/research interests include: Use of ornamental plants for the control of pollution in industrial environments; Use of different media for the propagation of difficult to root ornamental plants and the improvement of slum communities through landscaping; Use of biochar as soil amendment in allelopathic-laden soils in the landscape, the use of different soil amendments for reclaiming mined soils and the use of ornamental plants in controlling pollution in streams along small-scale mine sites.

Mrs. Adzraku has attended a number of workshops relating to her professional interests, one being the International workshop on Policy Innovations for Clean Energy Security (PISCES) Joint Implementation Group meeting held in Kumasi Golden Tulip, Ghana in December 2012.

Professionally, Mrs. Adzraku has undertaken a number of landscape design projects nationwide for well known and prominent individuals in the country. She led the team of scientists who constructed the Baba Yara Sports Stadium football field to international standards for CAN2008 as well as the landscaping of the Kumasi Golden Tulip. She was also the Landscape Consultant who assisted KMA in the construction of the recently opened RATTRAY Park in Kumasi.

Until recently she was the Landscape and Environmental Consultant for KNUST. She is the coordinator for the programme in B.Sc. Landscape Design and Management which is run by the Faculty of Agriculture, KNUST, Kumasi and was also on the Team of professionals selected by the National Accreditation Board to assess the BSc Design programme being run by Central University College. She is also an active member and Fellow of the Ghana Institute of Horticulturists.
