Dr. Princess Ruhama Acheampong is a Lecturer in the Department of Health Promotion and Disability Studies, School of Public Health, Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST). She is an international scholar of the Centre for Global Health, University of Pennsylvania, with a wealth of experience in research conceptualisation, coordination, and implementation.
She has extensive expertise in health advocacy, community mobilization, and monitoring and evaluation. Her research areas include maternal and child health, digital health, malaria, epidemiology, and gender-related public health issues.
Her research focuses on collaborative and community-based interventions aimed at advancing universal health coverage, and she is proficient in both qualitative and quantitative research methods. Dr. Acheampong has successfully won competitive research grants from reputable donors, including the International Development Research Centre (IDRC), Mastercard Foundation, National Institutes of Health (NIH), and KNUST Research Funds.
She currently serves as the International Liason Officer of Africa Health Collaborative in partnership with the Mastercard Foundation. Through this, she has facilitated the admission of over 3,000 females into health training programmes and led initiatives that promote gender inclusion and equity in the health sector.
Dr. Acheampong is a Winner of the Big Soap Ideas, an international competitive research ideas pitch competition. She is fluent in English and French and remains actively engaged in community, national, and international programmes that promote female empowerment, leadership development, and inclusive public health practice.
