Dr. Eric Appau Asante, born at Nkawkaw in the Eastern Region of Ghana is a Senior Lecturer, Educational Trip Coordinator and Examinations Officer for Department of General Art Studies programs at KNUST. He received his PhD degree in African Art and Culture from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology in Ghana. Dr. Eric Appau Asante also received his B.A. degree in Art from the Department of Integrated Rural Art and Industry, Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology in Ghana.
He also obtained his Post-graduate Diploma in General Education from the University College of Education, Winneba. He currently teaches undergraduate and graduate courses and provides leadership in Philosophy of Art Education and General Education.
Dr. Asante has a reputation as a Teacher Educationist, art Aesthetician/ researcher/ and teacher with outstanding record of publications including scholarly articles, essays, and numerous professional research presentations. His praxis is rooted in engaged- teaching; one that produces learners with transformational agenda. He serves as a Board Member for Arts Council of the African Studies Association and a regular reviewer of several research and conference papers. Dr. Asante is a recipient of the CAA Scholars Award.
