James Gyimah Manu is currently a Lecturer at the Department of Engllish. He holds an MPhil and BA, all in English, from KNUST. His research interests cover topics and issues in the areas of Semantics, Stylistics, Pragmatics and Syntax. His recent works have focused on how Conceptual Metaphor, as a cognitive machinery, is used for the purpose of communication by Ghanaian Commentators of football and how presupposition, as a linguistic phenomenon, is employed in the Ghanaian media landscape. Mr. Gyimah Manu enjoys teaching and deems it a crucial profession for a country's development. He therefore works assiduously to create a serene and congenial atmosphere for effective teaching and learning to take place.
