Prof. Nelson Agbo is with the Department of Fisheries and Watershed Management, Kwame Nkrumah University Science and Technology, Kumasi. He holds MSc. in Water Bioresources and Aquaculture (Kaliningrad State Technical University) and a PhD. in Aquaculture (Stirling University).
Prof Agbo is an aquaculture professional whose research interests span across aquaculture systems and technologies (including waste-water aquaculture), aquaculture nutrition studies on the use of alternative feedstuffs as protein sources and exploring feeding strategies to reduce feed cost as well as the development and diversification of species for aquaculture in Ghana. He also has other research interests including; exploring sustainable water use to mitigate the impacts of climate change, taxonomy and systematics of fishes of inland waters and the conservation of coastal areas of Ghana.
Prof. Agbo has been teaching and conducting research on the above research areas by collaborating with institutions in Ghana and abroad. Aside research he has worked as a consultant for governmental agencies, non-governmental organizations and private companies in the fisheries sector.
