Dr. Stephen Gyamfi is a researcher and lecturer whose work centres on water quality management, fish physiology, and sustainable aquaculture production. He earned his PhD in Aquaculture and Environment from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Kumasi, Ghana, building on an MPhil in the same discipline and a BSc in Natural Resource Management, also from KNUST. He also holds a Certificate in Environmental Health and Safety from the University of Mines and Technology, Tarkwa.

His research investigates how environmental stressors including ammonia exposure, hypoxia, and water quality fluctuations affect the physiology, behaviour, and growth performance of farmed fish species, particularly Nile tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) and African catfish (Clarias gariepinus). This work bridges fundamental physiological research with practical applications for pond management, nursery protocols, and feed formulation in resource-limited aquaculture settings
