Summary of Personal Qualities:

I have keenly applied myself to the pursuit of excellence in medical practice throughout my medical career in Ghana and the United Kingdom, practicing as a consultant obstetrician and gynaecologist and reproductive medicine, infertility and assisted conception sub-specialist and teaching medical and postgraduate students from various social and cultural backgrounds.

 

My key strengths include:

1. Possessing excellent administrative, communication and written skills along with constructive and effective teaching methods that promote a stimulating learning environment.
2. Able to work in a managerial role or as part of a team and having the proven ability to successfully work to tight schedules and deadlines and remaining calm and professional in times of stressful and critical need.
3. I relate and adapt well with people from a variety of cultures and socio-economic backgrounds and readily establish rapport with patients, students, staff, and other healthcare professionals and have collaboration with centres of excellence abroad.

• Facilitator for Curriculum Review Retreat/Workshop for the Department of surgery, SMD/KNUST on the topic “The Use of OSCE to Assess Medical Students: Practical Demonstration”. Date: 11^th July 2015 at Anita Hotel.
• Main Speaker: Land Management and Development Students’ Association (LAMDSA), KNUST Women’s Summit at College of Science Auditorium, KNUST. Topic: The Complete Woman, The Last Piece of a Man’s Puzzle (5^th March 2015)
• Facilitator/Speaker for the 10^th Anniversary of the Newmont Ghana Gold Limited Ahafo Mine on Endometriosis on 25^th November 2017 at the Ahafo Mine Town Hall.
• Facilitator/Speaker for the Paediatric Society of Ghana Annual General Conference and Scientific Meeting held in Kumasi on 17^th June 2016. Topic: ‘Adolescent Health: The good, the bad and the ugly:Adolescent Sexual Behaviour’.
• Facilitator for a Hands-On Intermediate Level Obstetric Ultrasonography Course for Doctors in Ghana: Venue: KATH 28^th September – 2^nd October 2015
• Facilitator Hands-On Caesarean Section Course for doctors countrywide to update them on current trends in decision making and performance of caesarean section. Organised by Directorate of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, KATH from 13^th – 17^th October 2014.
• Facilitator/Speaker: Ghana Medical Association Continuous Professional Development (CPD) programme on Advances in Fertility Treatment: Work up of the sub-fertile couple. Venue: True Vine Hotel, Kumasi Date: 27 June 2014
• Facilitator/Speaker for the Ghana College of Physicians and Surgeons 13^th AGSM Pre-conference Workshop on Obstetric Emergencies on 21/11/2016 in Accra. I delivered a lecture as part of the pre-conference workshop on Thromboembolism in Obstetric Practice.
• Facilitator for CME organized by The National Blood Service, Ghana for Laboratory Staff in the Northern and Central Ghana on “Obstetric and Gynaecological Transfusion”. I gave a presentation on the topic “Managing the Rhesus Negative Woman in Pregnancy”. Date: 20^th August 2019 at New Eye Conference Room, KATH.
