Dr. Gerald Owusu-Asubonteng is a consultant Obstetrics and Gynaecology and senior lecturer in KNUST. Dr. Gerald Owusu-Asubonteng completed his medical education at the Henrich-Heine University Medical School, in Dusseldorf – Germany. He had his residence training in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Giessen Community Hospital – Lich Germany.

He is a fellow of Ghana College of Surgeons and West African College of Surgeons. He has special interest in the areas of Minimal Invasive Surgery and reproductive Health and Family Planning.

He was the Head of Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, School of Medicine and Dentistry from 2018 to 2020. He is an Honorary Consultant in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital – Kumasi. Other positions he has held include: Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology Exams officer, Senior Hall Tutor of the Clinical Students Hostel at Komfo Anokye and External Examiner for University of Development Studies in Tamale, University of Ghana School of Medicine and Dentistry (Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology) and Ghana Nurses and Midwifery Council. He has also served as a Lecturer and examiner for Ghana College Nurses and Midwives and an Examiner for the Ghana College of Surgeons, Faculty of Obstetrics and Gynaecology.
