Appiah Bosomtwi is an accomplished environmental consultant and an assistant lecturer at the Environmental Science Department, Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Ghana. With a diverse academic background and extensive expertise, he is committed to addressing pressing environmental challenges and advancing sustainable practices.

Appiah is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Environmental Science, focusing on water quality monitoring using sediment cores concept and radiometric dating for retrospective investigations and predictive modeling to inform future reservoir planning for potable water provision. He also possesses two master’s degrees: an MSc. in Civil Engineering (Environmental Management) from Aalborg University, Denmark, and an MSc. in Environment, Technology, and Socioeconomic Planning from Roskilde University, Denmark. He earned his BSc. in Biological Sciences from KNUST, Ghana.

As a consultant and researcher, Appiah has developed extensive expertise in urban waste management, health care waste management, life cycle assessment of products, environmental impact assessment, and phytoremediation of contaminated sites. His work combines practical experience with academic rigor, addressing complex environmental issues and contributing to sustainable development in Ghana and beyond.

In his current role at KNUST, Appiah combines teaching, research, and consulting, inspiring the next generation of environmental scientists while actively contributing to environmental sustainability initiatives.
