Profile

Marvin Forson is a dedicated Maternal Fetal Medicine Imaging Specialist and translational researcher operating at the dynamic intersection of clinical maternal-fetal care, artificial intelligence, and global health equity. His mission is to harness innovative imaging and data science to improve pregnancy outcomes, particularly in resource-constrained settings.

Marvin serves as a key clinical expert within the Obstetrics and Gynaecology Directorate at Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) in Ghana. As a Maternal Fetal Medicine Sonographer in the hospital's Maternal Fetal Medicine Unit, he delivers essential advanced ultrasound diagnostics for complex pregnancies while actively mentoring radiology residents and fellows. Alongside his clinical duties, he contributes to academia as a Part-Time Assistant Lecturer in the Medical Imaging Department at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), where he is also advancing his academic journey as a PhD student in Medical Imaging. His doctoral research critically examines ophthalmic artery Doppler parameters in patients with preeclampsia—a study designed to yield practical diagnostic tools for low-resource environments. His broader research agenda targets placenta-related disorders, employing integrated methodologies that intergrate ultrasound, clinical metrics, and sophisticated data analytics to refine diagnostic precision and patient risk assessment.

Marvin's academic foundation includes a Bachelor of Science in Sonography from KNUST (2016), followed by a Master of Science in Medical Ultrasound from the University of Derby, UK (2021). He is currently pursing his PhD at KNUST, solidifying his expertise in applied medical imaging research.
