Professor Robert A Ngala is a Head of Department of Molecular Medicine in the School of Medicine and Dentistry, Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology Kumasi- Ghana. Professor Ngala has published over 50 papers in the area of Diabetes and Obesity and in pharmacology. Professor Ngala lectures in Biochemistry and Chemical Pathology in the School of Medicine and Dentistry, School of Pharmacy and Allied Health Sciences. He is a Board Chairman in Many educational Institutions and Teaching Hospitals, He holds an MSc. in Chemical Pathology from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology Kumasi and a PhD in Life Sciences from the University of Buckingham, UK where he carried out a lot of research in the pharmacology of β-adrenocepter agonists and antagonist and interaction with peroxisomes proleferator-activated receptors α and δ. His current research interest is in diabetes and obesity and the Discovery and Development of antidiabetic drugs from Tropical Plants. He is currently working on ‘Antidiabetic properties of Myrianthus Arboreous P Beauv in STZ-induced diabetic rats’ and the ‘Effective of vegetable oil consumption on the management of type2 diabetes mellitus in diabetic patients’
