  • 2017: Recipient of grant from the American Political Science Association (APSA) to attend Africa Research Development Group at the 113th APSA Annual Meeting in San Francisco, California from August 30 to September 3, 2017. (Value of Award: $6,000).
  • 2016: Recipient of the A. G. Leventis Foundation award for a Visiting Research Fellow, Centre of African Studies, University of Cambridge, UK (1st October 2016 – 31st March 2017). (Value of Award: £16,000).
  • 2015: Recipient of Professional Development grant from the American Political Science Association (APSA) as APSA-Africa Workshop Alumni. (Value of Award: $1,500).
  • 2015: Recipient of a research grant from University of Manchester/DFID for the project “States Delivering for Poor People: Improving Outcomes Through Stronger Evidence.” (Value of Award: £7,500).

  • 2012: Recipient of Prize for “Exceptional Research” by an emerging African scholar bestowed by the Centre for International Governance Innovation (CIGI), Waterloo, Ontario, Canada. (Value of Award: $1,000).
  • 2011: Recipient of the Africa Initiative Graduate Research Grant to undertake a post-doctoral research entitled “Discontent and Aggressive Political Participation in Ghana” at the University of Ottawa, Canada. (Value of Award: $10,000).
  • 2010: Recipient of the maiden African Author Prize, The prestigious prize is awarded for the best article published in African Affairs by an author based in an African institution, or an African Ph.D. student based in an overseas university. “The prize is in recognition of excellent African scholarship, which often does not reach audiences outside the African continent.” (Value of Award: £500).
  • 2009: Recipient of the Agyeman-Duah Prize for Best Graduate Student in the Master of African Studies course work, 2007-2008, Institute of African Studies-University of Ghana, Legon. (Value of Award: $200).
